Put A Fork In It!

...which I did and ate it! Yum'O! In fact, when it was all over I was caught doing the classic... kneeling in front of the fridge with a fork in my hand sampling leftovers.

While the turkey was cooking we took a stroll along the river to enjoy the beautiful day.
It was pretty nice, the eagles are already coming for the season. (you can't see them, stop looking for them)
There were more visitors to the river than just us and the eagles.
Is it river otter? Raccoon? Beaver?
What ever critter it is, it drags sticks into the river.
Found their willow tree harvest. Okay, I Google'd it and turns out they are beaver.
Also, thought these little critter prints (mouse tracks) were cute.
After our stroll we came back home and took the goats for a walk (didn't know if we'd be able to later). And that's a really nice picture of our porch.
We decided to go up the hill today. Lucy's still got it, crazy circus goat.
Perched while the goats nibble.
I wonder if Shane will grow into his head??
Mike, his friend, Eddie and Cheli waiting to put a fork in it. They're Thanksgiving dinner surfing (we were second on the route).
Master Chef's eye's are bigger than his stomach
but, he still put a fork in it.
After stuffing our faces we drug the kids outside to walk the goats again... just for the fun of it. See, its fun!
Got any carrots?
Huck and Banjo showing off for Cheli.
Cheli and Mesa are best buds.
All in all, nothing to crow about but, still a really great day!

And I'm so stuffed you could put a fork in me... ugh!

Farwell, El Guapo! Welcome, Gustav!

El Guapo is crowing in the great beyond as of this morning and we adopted a new roo! Gustav is a French Black Copper Merans, quite the ladies man.

... and now back to goats!

B'bye!

Bored On A Rainy Sunday

Looking at you.
Looking at me.
A moment of sun
Goat crisps get soggy
The rain coming down on a sunny moment. Ducks are super cheerful in the rain and make you giggle and notice the sparkles in the rain drops.
The goats got stuck in the barn most of the day staying out of the rain. I tried to take them for a walk during break in the weather but, it was too late, they were already wasted with lethargy. Me too.

Feel'in Kind'a Goofy Today

Story time!!!So, we had a trail maintenance party yesterday...
...and were gone all day.

Got up in the morning and hurried to get the chores done and down the road. Guess what I did?
In my haste, I didn't lock the gate. When we pulled in the drive at about 4:30 Lucy and the kids greeted us in the yard with Banjo not too far away (he's a mamma's boy even though Lucy is not his mom)Huck came out of the barn to welcome us home. [fyi- not where they're supposed to be]

I was kind of in shock, gave a quick glance to size up the scene and then did a quick goat ABC's (airway, breathing and circulation). They all seemed fine and happy so I petted them and began to giggle, silly goats.

I asked them if they had a good time and remembered to fill the tank with gas, they did. They all followed me to the barn and later that night I tucked them into bed.

This morning's chores revealed the mass exodus all over the barn from the previous evening's partying, gross! Guess who's cleaning the barn today. Other than some icky poo and a bad grain hangover, they are doing alright.

So, I worry and went to check on them again about an hour after feeding this morning (brought my camera for fun). Upon thorough investigation, turns out Huckleberry is the only one who didn't indulge at the party last night. He's a happy, smug goat today.
Little Huck also escaped into the turkey pen once this summer and stood smugly in front of the feeder. This is the same look he gave me. "I could... but, I won't!" Haha, such a smart little guy.
They didn't seem to worse for ware, Banjo and Huck giving their adorable smiles.
Shane seems a bit sluggish.
Willow being her cute self and wanting pets. Lucy wanted lots of pets too, some nice belly messaging.
Willow, bright eyed but, Shane and Lucy not too chipper.
Banjo being a dork. He's the responsible character for the goofy feelings today. He is always goofy and making faces.
But, he can pose nice if he wants to (gotta give kisses for him to do what you want).

A Blog Post

That's the goat barn. It needs cleaned. I have lots of helpers. The red-runners are getting bigger. I like them much better than the King Kong chickens.
There they are, my helpers!
See, he's watching me fill up the wheelbarrow, little crack-up! Ha ha
The man with the beard let the cows in the alley to mow... they didn't want to mow, they wanted to play.
What the heck is going on in the alley? Don't ask!
Curious Shane goes to investigate.
Kuma wants to play elevator... Arlen does too! Haha
Oooo, that doesn't look like its going to end well...
Kuma wants to know what's going on in the goat barn... hmmm?
Bandit is ok with eating the grass.
