Sunny Day In December

The Wood Shed
Free-cycled/re-purposed woodshed (cept the roof). Now to fill it with wood.

Sunny Day Munching
It was so nice and sunny today we stayed in the front yard for the berry tour.

My little snuggle bunny
Banjo, my little cuddly wuddly bear! He was extra snugly today.

Back to the ranch
All full up and now its time for hay. (stop by the garden and snatch some kale on the way).

Guests for dinner
Lucy and Yoda investigate the front steps before heading back to the barn.

Merry Christmas Ho Ho Ho

Need another blog post before the month is over and I don't have any spectacular photo's to add so it's going to be life as "usual" on the farm on Christmas Day in the morning... hahaha

Away in the Manger
Lucy eating like a pig as "usual" and the boys taking the high ground and fighting over it, as "usual".

Pedi for the party, anyone?
As "usual" just because it's a holiday doesn't mean the hoof rot gets the day off. And don't even think of making fun of my hat! I have to say, those are some cute little buns! tee hee

Cold, wet and no snow! (as "usual")
The man with the beard took an awesome photo, which is "unusual", check out the water droplets!

??
As "usual", its just easier this way.....

Got eyes in the back of my head!
Well kids, just because Christmas is over doesn't mean you can go back to being naughty! Lucy is keeping an eye on you!!! (as "usual")

Three Wise Men
Rest well my little goaties! Damn their cute! (also as "usual")

Master Yoda Stays For Winter

Master Yoda
This Master Yoda is a Nigerian Dwarf Goat. He stayed with us a while last winter and is back for some R & R this winter.
Zen Yoda
Yoda wanted to go for a walk in the woods for a zen moment.
Lucy and the Boys want some Zen
Can't leave Lucy, Huck and Banjo behind. Does Lucy look prego? Can't tell, but she looks fatter.
Go Home Train
Zen moment over and time to head back to the hay box.

Turkey Day Feast

A small audience for this Turkey Day but, still great food and great company.
Get your engines started!
Stuffing stuffed pumpkins = YUM!
Perfect crust and pumpkin pie!!
Add egg nog ice cream!
Eyes are bigger than your tummy.... for a minute... then the tummy expands, burrrp!
Kitty is pouting because she doesn't get any. Poor kitty!

The apple pie looks really bad, but it taste good! Haha

Happy Turkey Day
Tasty Heritage Turkey.

Turkey For T-Day

Today we had the privilege of using equipment for Whatcom Pastured Poultry to butcher the Maple Falls Community Farm and Garden's turkeys. What a great day spent learning a new skill, using community co-op poultry equipment and helping our community raise their own food, and teaching our children too.
Pretty skookum way to transport turkeys!
Don't forget to take pictures!
Very humane way to put them down.
Getting ready to take a bath.
Everyone helping to dress the turkey and Arlen dressing the chicken.. Size does matter! Haha

Coffee

A good cup of coffee on a cold morning (or evening in my case) is priceless. Got the new grinder today and I LOVE IT!! You've not had good coffee until you have burr ground coffee in a french press with locally roasted beans.

Notice the "Home Brew" blend of beans from Bellingham Bay Roasters!
