Expanded Digs

New Expanded Digs
There's a chicken in the new cow feeder on the wall to the right. She made sure all the bugs were out of the straw bedding and feeder before the cows came to check out their new larger pen. Stay tuned for the inside version. Still cleaning and organizing the barn....

All In A Days Work

No Cows Allowed!
After breakfast, build a semi-permeable pen that allows goats in and out but, keeps cows out. Locate scrap wood and chop, nail and screw a wonky goat play-pen.
Hmph!
"That's not nice!" says Kuma. Everyone should be allowed to poop equally everywhere. Hmph!
Cute Goats Only! Ha!
Huckleberry says, "No cow poop allowed in here! Haha! Oh, and I know I'm the most handsome animal on the farm, thanks!"
Baby Mouse
Then go clean the barn and rearrange so the feed storage makes better sense. While you do that, make sure you take a picture of the cute mouse family's baby... living in the scrap wood pile.
Ma'Bella and Bandit (aka-Ringo)
Then off-load the new cow and her calf that you bought from the late Mrs. Hansen's estate. Ma'Bella is looking for her girls, they didn't get to come with.
Kuma Meets Other Cows
Kuma is super stoked that he isn't the only cow in the world and those goats can poop all by themselves now, haha!
Found The Grass
Ma found the grass and baby is taking a nap. (look for the black speck on the right, 'bout in the middle of the frame)
All In A Days Work
Time to call it a day, the sun is setting. Still missing the girls though.

Hen-N-Chicks

Chicken Town
We started calling it Chicken Town and it stuck. It should be Chicken Nursery because its used to hold baby chicks like broilers and broody hens and their chicks. Turns out 1x2 inch welded wire doesn't hold little baby chicks and they escape. Mamma hens learned to fly over the gate to keep track of the chicks that have gone AWOL.

Ninja chicken and her brood
Meet Ninja Chicken, she is stealthy and wise and the best broody hen we have. She stays with her chicks for months while the others abandon theirs after 3 to 4 weeks. She only pays visits to Chicken Town to eat and then leads her brood all over the property. She likes the goats and cow pen to roost in.
Brown Mamma
Mean, brown Momma chicken! She doesn't let anything near her chicks. She finally figured out how to fly over the gate and stay with her chicks when the escape Chicken Town. She is one of Ninja Chickens last batch of chicks.
White Mamma
White Mamma was only sitting on two eggs and only one survived. She is a good hen and her chick is the only one that stay very close to its Ma. White Mamma is also one of Ninja Chicken's babies.

This is Ninja Chicken with Brown and White Mamma last year in October. CUTE!

Kuma and the kids

Family
Though goat make great companions for humans, race horses and other barn yard critters... they also like having their own companion to keep for themselves. Kuma makes a great goat pet! Haha
