Everything is clean when it snows!

I love it when I wake up to snow!!! This morning I got a free boost of energy from the universe with a pretty picture (makes cleaning the goat stall nice). 

BUT... before we clean stalls... its fun, romping, debauchery in the snow! Poor little Banjo ruff-housed too much last night and got a boo boo on his left horn nub. I think its sore because when I tried to clean it this morning he got really really vocal and then refused any snuggles for half an hour. Also, he didn't harass the B'geezus out of Lucy and back down from all Huckleberry's challenges.

She's up to something, I can tell, she's being super nice.

Huckleberry is just fine with this as he is the most chill little goat on the planet. He's the yin to Banjo's yang. The best little smiling goat a goat-keeper could ask for. See!

Huckleberry trudging through the snow like a champ! He knows Banjo is down today and has taken over the lead to help out his brother.... Or, he's over the snow and wants to be first in the barn!!

 Lucy wags beside and behind for now, but some day she will lead this rag-tag bunch of cutie pies. Can you just picture her with a tiara? She has an imaginary one on her head all the time, she even sleeps with it. The only time it's removed is when she is about to butt Mesa (the dog). Can't be denting and bending her tiara now!

Here is "Buck". He is a buck. A buck is a male goat that is still, ehem, in tact. His name isn't "Buck" but his breeder hasn't named him and said to call him whatever I like. "Buck" it is and it does indeed suit him. Buck is a Nigerian Dwarf just like Banj and Huck. Lucy is a Nubian. What happens when a Nubian doe and a Nigerian Buck have a date? They make babies duh!! Their kids will be "Kinders" or "Mini-Nubians". Either way they are pretty darn cute. Lucy is too little to mate with a full sized Nubian so I figured l'd keep things on the little side. Nubian and Nigerian goats both have rich milk and make great cheese and kefir.

He is so not my type, OMG!

I'll have to fill her in on the etiquette of dating over the next couple weeks. Right now she is pretty much turned off by his smell and presence, but I know she will grow to appreciate his qualities... on January 25th to be exact! In the mean time... it's going to be attitude all the way down.
